What was the Situation?

This is the first week for contextual studies and first thing we did was had an itroduction about Contextual Sudies and to get into a group of 4- 5 people and discuss about current market strategies.

Who Was Invovled?

I was in a group of 5 people and in that group were me, Ryan, Carl, Paul & Pierce. We called ourselves Team 5.0, like Hawaii 5.0.

What I Did?

I established a team. So after getting into groups I've been given an open lecture about Marketing Strategies that currently used.

What the Outcome Was?

The outcome was  subjects we discussed in this list Below in Minorheadings.

What I Learned?

It was alot to take in on the first day, but it explains the important details that would cover the basics of contextual studies and it will get more complex during the week.

What the Situation was? 

In our first activity as a group we've been given a task to list 5 Implications of Marketing on the Video Game Industry.

 Who was Involved?

the people that were involved in this task was me, Ryan, Carl, Paul & Pierce.

What I Did? 

I discussed with my team about the Implications, I try to come up with Ideas that would Impact the Video Game Industry.

 What was the Outcome?  

We made list of 5 Issues to Discuss for Implications which are listed Below:

Big Companies

Awareness of Smaller Companys

Distinguish Brands 

Sales Imapcts

Bad PR 

and we announce these implications with the other groups and the lecturer. Also the other groups discussed about the implication that they come up with.

  What I learned?

 I learned that their was a lot of Issues that would make an impact to the Video Game Industry.

What was the Situation? 

the situation was to gather in a team and find 5 ways to divide the audience in marketing and list them

What I Did

I discuss this with my team and we wrote it down on paper.

What was the Outcome?

 5 Ways to Divide the target Audience in Marketing

5. Technical Ability

   What I learned?

   06/04/2016

   First of all, the reason why I haven't been keeping up the weekly blog for the last 3 weeks was because on the first week I had to attend to a game jam that went for 3 days including the day for contextual studies. As for the other  2 weeks it was a religious holiday (Easter).

   What was the situation?

   Today we had to prepare a group presentation for next week and the team has to pull resources for the 5 implication we listed and to make the presentation.

   Who was invovled?

   The people invovled in this weeks activity was Me, Ryan & Carl.

   What I Did?

   I discuss with the team about the presentation and what we should cover in the presentation and how we should cover the other subject for those who weren't present this week.

   What the Outcome was?

   We agreed to gather some resources, make are own slides and then next week we can join are own slides together for the presentation.

   What I Learned?

   I learned that when things don't always go as plan, you have to improvise and try to get an early start on some work.

What was the Situation?

The situation was the class was assembling their research and resource and collaberarting them to make the presentation and we were deciding on which team gets to present their findings first for next week.

Who was Invovled?

Me (Team Leader), Pierce, Ryan, Carl, Paul.

What I Did?

I was doing a mixture of work. I was in one hand researching for my personal work on an indie game using Steam Spy & Google Trend. While in the other hand I was assemble the presentation slides from my team and create the full presentation.

What was the Out Come?

I've obtained a huge amount of data from steam spy for my personal reseach and I will complete the full presentation for next week.

What I learned?

I learned that you can get the right answer if you know where to look.

What was the situation?

For today's session we are to have the presentation of our research. It will be recorded and 2 team went for today's session. Though my team did not do our presentation for that is next week.

Who Was Involved?

Me, Ryan, Carl, Pearse, Paul.

What I did?

I sat down and listen to the other team presentation and I learned what they covered for there presentation with facts and details.

What Was the out come?

 The teams present there facts with accuracy and good examples but they went over the time limit which was 10 minutes. they went from 15 to 20 minutes. Also 1 of the teams had to stop in the middle of the recording because he messed up.

What Did I Learn?

I learned that if I want  to make my presentation 10 minutes I would have to make less slides and present for 2 minutes for each team memeber.

What was the situation?

This week Me and my team had to present our findings for the Implications of the gaming industry and present them in front of a recording camera.

Who Was Involved?

Me (Leader), Ryan, Pearse, Carl, Paul.

What I did?

I brought the completed PowerPoint and presented our findings with the team. 

What was the Out Come?

The presentation was a bit long, close to 20 minutes and 1 of team members accidentally dropped a f-bomb in the middle of the presentation. After all that it was pretty good and I messed up my lines.

What Did I Learn?

I learned in order to present better probably get some cue cards to read out.

What was the Situation?

Well after the presentation I went back working on my essay.

Who Was Involved?

Me, Just me.

What I Did?

I found out that I was raeding the wrong assigment letter. Whoops.

What was the Outcome?

The outcome was that i had to read the new assignment and fix this before the deadline.

What Did I Learn ?

Look for the right assignment letter and get rid of the wrong 1 before starting the work.

11/05/2015 

What was the situation?

Today was the final day of contextual studies. Which means that all assignments are to be handed in today. By the way, last week i fixed my essay under an hour.

Who was involved?

Me, Just Me and the enitre class.

What was the out come?

The outcome was everyone was busy either finishing the essay, printing it or handing it in.

What I did?

I had handed my essay, but I still had to finish the blog which I'm doing right now.

What I learned

I learned to get a head start with the printing, by printing the night before the deadline. Also I learned that there is a lot to learn in this contextual studies and some I can't quite grasp my head around it. but I tried my best.
